She pursued her education in psychology, journalism, and English literature at M. S. Ramaiah College of Arts, Science and Commerce in Bangalore.

Mandanna's career began in modeling, where she gained recognition by winning the Clean & Clear Fresh Face contest in 2014, subsequently becoming the brand ambassador for Clean & Clear. She made her acting debut in the 2016 Kannada film "Kirik Party," which became one of the year's highest-grossing films and earned her the SIIMA Award for Best Debut Actress
