Tamannaah Bhatia was born into a Punjabi family in Mumbai. She completed her schooling at Maneckji Cooper Education Trust School. Her interest in acting started at a young age, and she began working in theater during her school days. She was spotted at a school event, which led to her entry into the film industry.

Her acting career began with the Bollywood film "Chand Sa Roshan Chehra" (2005) at the age of 15. She also appeared in Abhijeet Sawant’s music video "Lafzon Mein" the same year.
